This is the only way to save democracy in America as we fear the lawlessness and complete disregard for the United States Constitution under Trump and Vance will spiral into dictatorship and a cancellation or degrading of the 2008 elections.

The grounds for Impeachment for the President and Vice President are:

1. They have violated their oath of office repeatedly – most egregiously by staging and supporting an insurrection, violating the rule of law on multiple occasions, and deploying troops to American cities.

2. They have conducted and supported vast schemes of kick-backs, conflicts-of-interest, and personal aggrandizement – using public office to enrich themselves, their family members, and their allies.

3. They have shown nothing but contempt and hatred for the American people, her first responders, her scientists, her librarians, her people of color, and anyone who is not exactly like them.

If House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries becomes the next Speaker of the House, he will then become President of the United States. We further demand that President Jeffries declare himself a Caretaker President and that he and the new Congress work with utmost speed and diligence to restore the United States Government to full functioning and that he pledge NOT to seek election in 2028.

We call on all members of American civil society to join in this demand to the leaders of the Democratic Party.

In December of 1776 the great American patriot and revolutionary, Thomas Paine, published “The Crisis.” He wrote:

THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.

So, may we echo those words and say – Trump, like hell, is not easily conquered and if we cherish our freedom we must move heaven and earth to remove him and his accomplice from office and, in so doing, also in words of Paine, “Begin the world anew.”
