Defend democracy.
In the time since his second inauguration, Trump has carried out an assault on the rule of law, on the checks and balances of power between our co-equal branches of government, and on the United States Constitution. He is now committing multiple abuses of power in violation of clear constitutional commands and at the expense of our democratic institutions, constitutional precedent, and the health and safety of all of our people, especially the most vulnerable. Congress must take action.
In light of ongoing legal concerns, accountability measures, and the need for integrity in the democratic process, we, the undersigned, call on Relevant Authority, like U.S. Congress to take decisive action to ensure that Donald Trump is disqualified from running for President in the 2024 and 2028 elections.
We believe that actions taken by Donald Trump during his presidency and afterward have demonstrated a disregard for democratic norms, law, and the rule of law. Given his involvement in the January 6th Capitol insurrection, ongoing legal challenges, and the continued threat he poses to the integrity of American democracy, we demand:

Disqualification under the 14th Amendment (Section 3): For his role in inciting violence and rebellion, Trump should be disqualified from holding public office in accordance with the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Accountability for January 6th & Other Legal Challenges: We call on the justice system to hold Donald Trump accountable for his actions, ensuring that any violations of law are met with the appropriate consequences, and that he is held to the highest legal standards.

A Clear Stand for Democratic Integrity: The U.S. government, state governments, and other political bodies must stand firm in defending the principles of democracy, the peaceful transfer of power, and the safety of American citizens.
Demand accountability.
Trump is not a monarch. He is beholden to the Constitution, as is Congress. And as the Founders understood, if we are to preserve our democracy for the people, then Congress has a duty to investigate and, if necessary, remove a corrupt executive. Congress must fulfill its duty now.
