Indict the Officers that Murdered Stephon Clark
Sacramento District Attorney, Ann Marie Shubert
Another brutal death at the hand of the police enforcement has occurred in Sacramento and Stephon Clark’s name has been added to the list of many victims who are subjected to the incompetence of officers to properly assess and de-escalate situations. This is a major outrage and another clear indicator of how little our law enforcement values the lives of people of color. The inadequacy of the police officers reached new levels as Clark was targeted and gunned down in his own grandparent’s backyard where they fired twenty shots, on an unarmed man with a cellphone in his hand. The city of Sacramento and its government leaders have undoubtedly failed Clark and his family by deciding to be judge, jury, and executioner at the mere sight of a Black male.
We demand justice in the name of Stephon Clark. History has shown us that cases like Clark’s conclude in unjust decisions in favor of police officers, but the City of Sacramento has a chance to end that streak now. We implore that the Sacramento District Attorney, Ann Marie Shubert indict the police officers who took Clark’s life. Join us in sending this message.

We demand that you indict the officers who murdered Stephon Clark. Officers shot at him 20 times, hitting him at least 8 times. Stephon was unarmed, and on his own property, and the behavior from your law enforcement officials was unacceptable.
Police officers should not be allowed to exist above the law, and until justice is served for this young man's death, we will remain in the streets.
