Furneaux Avenue is between two major roads and cars race down it as fast as 50mph with nothing to stop them. We want to see traffic calming installed to protect residents and prevent more high speed accidents.

Residents have told us about several dangerous incidents with speeding drivers: only six months ago, a car collided at high speed with the postbox on Tivoli Road; others have told us that more than one cat has been killed by reckless drivers. Furneux Avenue is an entirely residential road with many young families – we need changes to keep people safe.

Despite Furneaux Avenue being a regular cut through for drivers trying to avoid the lights at Crown Point, it's the only road in the area with no speed bumps.

Lisa Schulkind, one of the Green Party candidates for Knight's Hill, said: "It only takes one speeding driver to do damage, and Furneaux Avenue sees a lot of them. People have told us they want traffic calming measures installed as soon as possible.

We, the undersigned residents around Furneaux Avenue, request that Lambeth Council installs traffic calming measures as soon as possible to restrict the reckless speeds we witness on a daily basis.
