We call upon Porter management and the Porter Board of Trustees to take the steps necessary to recruit and retain nurses and staff at Porter for the health of our community.
Without an investment in local nurses and staff, we will continue to lose our healthcare professionals to nearby hospitals who pay significantly more. In addition, our healthcare system will be forced to continue to rely on out-of-town travelers who can cost 2-3x as much as locals nurses and staff.
We call upon the Porter administration and Board to do the right thing and sign a fair contract for the health of our community.
