Support Inclusion for All Workers at IRC Workers Unite!
We are thrilled to announce that our union, IRC Workers Unite, has been voluntarily recognized across a few different IRC offices—a significant victory for all of us who believe in a fairer, more supportive workplaces. However, our fight is not over. HQ and management at IRC are now attempting to exclude some of our colleagues from being included within our unions on a local and national level including IRC San Jose, IRC Oakland, IRC Abilene & IRC Denver. This decision not only undermines the spirit of unity that our recognition represents but also goes against the principles of labor law.
According to labor law, specific criteria must be met for employees to be excluded from a union. The individuals that management seeks to exclude do not meet any of these legal standards. They work alongside us, share our challenges, and contribute equally to the success of our mission at IRC.
We Need Your Support: Excluding these workers from our union does not just deny them a voice—it weakens all of us. Our strength comes from our collective power, our shared experiences, and our unified demands for better conditions. By allowing all eligible employees to join, we can better advocate for improvements that benefit everyone at IRC, ensuring that our workplace values each of us equally.
Join Us in Urging IRC to Do the Right Thing: We urge IRC to recognize the contributions of all its workers by including everyone in our union, as they rightfully deserve. This is not just about following labor law—it’s about respecting the hard work and dedication of every employee who makes our mission possible.
Please stand with us in demanding that IRC honors our collective voice. Together, we can ensure that every worker at IRC is heard, valued, and given the right to be in a union!

IRC Management,
I am writing as a proud supporter of IRC Workers Unite. This union represents the shared commitment to building a workplace that respects, values, and empowers every employee.
I am concerned about recent attempts by HQ and IRC management to exclude certain workers from being included in the union on both local and national levels. This effort contradicts the principles of solidarity and inclusion that our union represents and goes against the spirit of labor laws designed to protect workers' rights.
According to the law, specific criteria determine which employees can be excluded from a union, and the workers you are seeking to exclude do not meet these legal standards. They work side by side with us, sharing the same challenges and contributing significantly to the success of IRC's mission.
Excluding these workers not only denies them their right to be heard but also undermines the strength and unity of our entire union. Our power lies in our collective voice and our ability to advocate for better working conditions together. By including all eligible workers, we can ensure that our union reflects the diverse experiences and needs of everyone who makes IRC’s work possible.
I urge IRC to reconsider this approach and fully recognize the contributions of every worker by allowing them to join our union. This is not just a matter of legality; it is a matter of respect for the people who dedicate themselves to advancing IRC's mission every day. By doing so, you will demonstrate a commitment to the values of equity and fairness that are at the heart of our work.
I stand with the workers at IRC in demanding that IRC honors their collective voice. Let’s work together to ensure that every worker at IRC is included, valued, and given the right to unionize.
Thank you for considering our concerns!
