Michael R. Mignogna, Mayor, Voorhees NJ

To the Voorhees Township Committee, Mayor Michael Mignogna, and Concerned Citizens:
We demand the immediate removal of Jason Ravitz from his positions as Deputy Mayor and Township Committee Member of Voorhees, New Jersey. His actions have demonstrated a severe lack of judgment, ethics, and responsibility—qualities that are absolutely necessary for any public official.
Jason Ravitz Has Engaged in Disturbing and Dangerous Behavior, Including:
- Targeting and Harassing Students—He has repeatedly posted images of minors from Cherry Hill East High School and other schools across South Jersey on social media, publicly exposing them to harassment and even inciting violence against them.
- Encouraging Threats Against Students—In response to online comments asking for school details, he provided the location and lunchtime of students, putting their safety at risk.
- Spreading Hate and Targeting Minorities—His attacks disproportionately focus on Arab American and Muslim American students, as well as others who disagree with his views, fostering a culture of discrimination and intolerance.
- Engaging in Violent and Reckless Behavior—His history of violence, including drunken belligerence leading to his ban from two bars in Voorhees, further proves his unfitness for public office.
- Bullying and Threatening Members of the Community—Beyond students, he has harassed local business owners, public servants, and countless others in South Jersey, using his platform to intimidate rather than serve.
How Has This Gone Unchecked for So Long?
While Mr. Ravitz is entitled to his own personal opinions, he is not merely a private citizen—he is an elected official in two positions of power within Voorhees Township. His words and actions, therefore, directly reflect upon the township government and its leadership. It is unacceptable that this behavior has been allowed to continue.
The Voorhees Township Committee and Mayor Michael Mignogna have been made aware of his hateful and dangerous rhetoric, yet none of them have publicly condemned it. Their silence sends a clear message: they are either complicit or indifferent to the harm being caused. By failing to act, they have allowed an elected official to use his platform to harass minors, encourage threats, and target marginalized groups. How can the residents of Voorhees trust a government that refuses to hold its own members accountable?
We Demand Immediate Action:
- His Resignation or Removal from Office—As both Deputy Mayor and a Township Committee Member, he has abused his power and proven himself unfit to represent the people of Voorhees.
- A Formal Investigation—His actions must be thoroughly examined, and appropriate legal consequences pursued if necessary.
- Accountability from the Township Government—We demand a clear and public response from the Voorhees Township Committee and Mayor Michael Mignogna regarding why this behavior has been tolerated for so long.
- Stronger Protections Against Harassment by Public Officials—No elected leader should be able to target minors, incite violence, or use their position to intimidate others without consequences.
- An Official Statement Addressing These Issues—Mayor Michael Mignogna and the Voorhees Township Committee must release a public statement addressing Jason Ravitz’s actions, explaining their prior inaction, and committing to safeguards to prevent future abuse of power.
Evidence and Documentation
We encourage all residents, officials, and investigative bodies to review the extensive evidence of Jason Ravitz’s conduct. A full record of his social media activity—spanning from October 2023 to October 2024—including screenshots and screen recordings of every post, is available for public examination.
