The International Energy Agency, the United Nations, the UK's Committee on Climate Change, and now the world's leading body on climate change – the IPCC have all said we must stop new fossil fuels.

Dear Members of the House of Commons and House of Lords,
We are writing to demand you take action to protect UK citizens and people around the world against the threat of global heating, caused by the burning of fossil fuels.
This Government has already heard warnings from the United Nations, the International Energy Agency, and its own Climate Change Committee: new oil and gas will fuel the flames of the climate crisis. They have ignored these warnings.
The death toll from climate events this year alone is catastrophic and Rishi Sunak's plan will make the future unimaginably worse.
We ask our political representatives to do their basic duty: come together with the ordinary people they represent to stand against this Government's plans for new fossil fuels and the abandonment of key net zero policies.
We have just faced the hottest July in globally recorded history. There is no more time to waste.
