As a member of the Professional Bargaining Unit, I am disappointed in the employer’s refusal to bargain contract language to address key issues in our workplace because they are believed to “not align with business strategy.” Our bargaining team has advocated on our behalf to ensure our contract continues to maintain Kaiser Permanente as the “Best Place to Work,” and we believe that our employer shares the same aspirations.
I sign today to demand your reengagement on the proposals submitted by Labor addressing these important interests:
--Pay for Work - Incentivizing Professionals who complete work outside of usually scheduled hours, as we strive to accommodate the necessary flexibility of unique patient care and LMP needs. Pros should not regularly do foreseeably scheduled work uncompensated.
--Fix the Attendance Policy - Preventing unnecessary and punitive Corrective Actions caused by flaws in the current Attendance Policy;
--Provide Adequate Time for Training - Clarify operational process to ensure Pros have adequate time free from other duties to complete required employer-mandated trainings;
The work we complete as Professionals is vitally important to the success of Kaiser Permanente and its ability to provide high-quality and affordable care to our communities each and every day. We urge you to come to the table July 2nd and engage in respectful conversations towards bargaining a fair contract for everyone.
