LEF Board of Directors

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO FIND FULL LETTER TEXT BELOW

Parents are sending a joint letter to the LEF Board of Directors to urge them to reach a fair deal with educators that improves working conditions and our children's learning conditions.

Since unionizing in December 2024, LEF educators have been negotiating their first collective agreement with management, but a year and a half later there are still several outstanding issues management hasn’t agreed to.

Please add your name, as either a parent or community supporter, to this joint letter to the LEF Board of Directors!

We are parents of children at LEF childcare centres. Since unionizing in December 2024, LEF educators have been bargaining their first collective agreement with management, but a year and a half later there are still several outstanding issues management hasn’t agreed to.

We are writing to voice our support for the educators, and to call on management to agree to a deal with workers that prioritizes fair pay, reinstatement of the wage cuts, adequate staffing, and adequate sick days.

Many of us regularly see the educators at our centres dealing with burnout, understaffing, and turnover. This not only impacts the well-being of these workers, it also impacts the quality of care for our children.

These educators give so much of themselves to create safe, happy learning environments for our kids every day. We’re calling on LEF to sign an agreement that takes care of them in return, and that keeps them wanting to stick around.
