Let Jersey City's Council Know: Bus Riders Matter – Speak Up for Faster Buses!
Jersey City Council
===ENGLISH===
Buses in Jersey City are slow and unreliable. Every year, 2.6 million Jersey City bus passengers on just the 87 bus, and another 2.6 million on the 119 bus, experience long waits in the heat, cold, and rain for buses that are delayed in traffic or never arrive at all. If the combined ridership of the 87 and the 119 were a train line, it would be NJ Transit’s 4th busiest train line statewide.
Our buses get stuck behind double-parked cars and delivery trucks, inconvenienced by drivers illegally parked in bus stops, and slowed down by drivers pulling into and out of parking spots.
Buses are mass transit, and just like the PATH or the light rail, buses deserve their own lanes. Bus lanes offer a solution that work for everyone: they separate bus traffic from car traffic, and they allow buses to travel faster and more efficiently. When buses travel faster, the buses can run more frequently on the same budget, reducing wait times.
Fast, reliable, effective, efficient buses deliver the freedom that people deserve.
Help tell Jersey City politicians that bus riders matter!

Buses in Jersey City are slow and unreliable. Every year, 5.2 million Jersey City bus passengers on the 87 and 119 buses alone experience long waits in the heat, cold, and rain for buses that are delayed or never arrive at all. Our buses get stuck behind double-parked cars and delivery trucks, inconvenienced by drivers illegally parked in bus stops, and slowed down by drivers pulling into and out of parking spots.
