East County is growing! Our community deserves a place where local residents can come together, shop locally, discover small businesses, enjoy fresh food, and connect with one another.
I am working to bring a recurring community farmers and makers market to the White Oak/East County area, creating a welcoming gathering place for residents, local farmers, food producers, artisans, makers, small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations.
The vision is bigger than a traditional farmers market. The market could feature:
- Fresh produce, meats, baked goods, and locally produced foods
- Local makers, artisans, and small businesses
- Food vendors and specialty beverages
- Flowers, plants, and garden vendors
- Community organizations and local resources
- Family and children's activities
- Wellness activities and demonstrations
- Live demonstrations, workshops, and community programming
- Comfortable spaces for neighbors to sit, eat, talk, and connect
With major development coming to White Oak, including Viva White Oak, this is an opportunity to create something that grows alongside the community and gives residents a place to shop local, support local businesses, and build community.

Bring a Community Farmers & Makers Market to White Oak & East County
We are asking Viva White Oak / MCB Real Estate and Montgomery County community partners to support the exploration of a recurring community farmers and makers market in the White Oak/East County area.
East County is experiencing significant growth, and this is an opportunity to create a community gathering place that reflects and serves the people who live here.
The proposed market would bring together local farmers, food producers, makers, artisans, small businesses, community organizations, and local service providers. In addition to shopping, the market could offer family activities, wellness programming, workshops, live demonstrations, fresh food, plants and flowers, and comfortable spaces for residents to gather and connect.
A market of this kind could:
