10% of Sunset residents lived in poverty before COVID-19 - and the inequality has only deepened. As we address the housing crisis in San Francisco, the Sunset must not be left behind. We need deeply affordable housing, and we need it now.

We applaud the proposal of the first affordable housing complex in the Sunset at 2550 Irving St specifically for families, and we want to make sure it will meet our neighborhood’s needs. That’s why we’re demanding:

1. Maximum possible number of units
2. Maximum area median income (AMI) of tenants at 30% - to support those most in need
3. Non-profit services, community based organizations, or co-op space to serve residents in the ground floor of the building
4. Open design sessions from TNDC to address concerns about shadows and sunlight
5. Community forum with Supervisor Mar and the MTA about adequate N-Judah services
6. Explore possibility of underground parking garage to avoid congested streets

Please join us in the fight to make sure our families can keep living in the Sunset!
