Letter of Unity
When important events and tragedies occur among the People, it becomes necessary for us to unite as one, even when parties seek to divide us, and to clearly explain why we must stand together.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: All Peoples are created equal and are endowed with certain unalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To secure these rights, governments are created among the People and derive their powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any form of government destroys these ends, it is the right of the People to change or abolish it. They may establish a new government based on principles and structures most likely to ensure the safety and happiness of the People.
Prudence will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes. As history teaches us, human beings are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing familiar forms. But after a long train of abuses and usurpations, always leading to absolute desperation, it is their right and duty to throw off such a government. They must put in place new safeguards for their future security.
To that end, we, the People of America, must be heard.
This nation has patiently suffered. Now, we must stand together. The actions of the current President repeatedly cause harm and overreach, aimed at achieving total control. To prove this, we submit the facts to an honest world.
He has refused his assent to laws that would be prudent and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors from passing laws of immediate and pressing importance in the evolving, modern social and technological world.
He has coerced and threatened legislative bodies into compliance.
He has repeatedly targeted those who oppose his firm invasions of the Rights of the People.
He has refused to respect the institution of elections as the foundational pillar of our Democracy.
He has endeavored to suppress the diverse population of these States, for that purpose, obstructing the dutiful adherence to the laws of immigration.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing to adhere to the laws or powers of the Judiciary.
He has created the office of DOGE, which violates the principle of the separation of powers, and has sent many agents to harass civil servants and seize our national data.
He has kept and used our own armies against us, even in peaceful times, without our leaders' approval, and has tried to make the Military stronger than Civil Power.
He has worked with others to subject us to authorities outside our constitution and has allowed their influence over us.
For protecting them, by refusing to even hold a trial, from punishment for any murders or assaults which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States.
For degrading our trade with all parts of the world and the unilateral creation of this new oil and energy crisis.
For imposing Taxes and Tariffs upon us without our Consent.
For depriving us in many cases of the benefits of a fair and timely Trial by Jury.
For transporting People across the seas to be imprisoned for unproven offenses.
For rescinding our regulations, abolishing our valued laws, and fundamentally altering the Forms of our Governments.
For defying our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to determine the laws for us in all cases whatsoever.
For threatening the sovereignty of our allies and the right to life of all others.
He has abdicated governing here by declaring us as his enemies and defying the will of the People.
He has plundered our resources, ravaged our cities, and destroyed the lives of our People, including citizens, lawful immigrants, People of color, and their families who suffer in their absence.
He is at this time employing large armies of dishonorable mercenaries to impose the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy.
He has left the People of this nation to starve and wither under the weight of his corruption, with his defunding of food and social programs, as well as the Department of Education.
In every stage of these oppressions, we have petitioned and protested for redress in our most humble terms, yet our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated violence and chaos.
A President, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the leader of a free People.
Nor have we been heard in our petitions to our elected brethren. We have suffered again and again the attempts of the legislature to impose further jurisdiction over us. We have appealed to their sense of justice and magnanimity, and we have called to them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations. They, too, have failed to uphold the voice of justice.
We, citizens of the United States of America, united as a People, implore our leaders to take a stand in the judgment of history. He has defied and assaulted the rule of law and the authority of our elected legislatures. He has disrespected the essence of our nation and brought shame upon us worldwide. His actions have not benefited the American People, nor have they ensured food, shelter, or the well-being of our kin. He has sullied our honor and the faith of our People only to distract from his own failures.
America shall not suffer a tyrant.
As such, we the undersigned demand the impeachment and removal from office of Donald J. Trump for his continued violations of the principles of constitutional governance and his betrayal of the public trust.
