Living Wages at USC

Michael D. Amiridis, President of the University of South Carolina

Workers in every position at the University of South Carolina deserve to be paid a living wage, but that's not the current reality. We are asking President Amiridis to make reasonable updates to worker wages that align with the current cost of living in South Carolina. Sign the petition to let President Amiridis and the administration of USC know that you believe all workers of this institution deserve to be paid a living wage!

We, the United Campus Workers of The University of South Carolina (USC), demand fair compensation for all USC workers. Our university prides itself on excellence and integrity. It is essential to ensure that all workers are paid a living wage that reflects their value and dedication to our academic community.
We urge the President of the University of South Carolina, Michael Amiridis, to make the following changes:

-A minimum wage of $20/hour for all part time and full time hourly workers
-A minimum wage of $20/hour for all workers contracted through Aramark and other vendors.
-A minimum of $40,000/year for salaried workers with guaranteed increases based on the number of years worked at USC.
-A minimum annual stipend of $20,000/year for all graduate workers, or an equivalent hourly wage
-Fully-covered tuition and fees for all full-time graduate students
-Annual cost of living adjustments to the wages of all workers

These changes will not only improve the financial security of workers at USC, but they will also contribute to a more inclusive, diverse, and productive academic community. By investing in the well-being of its workers, USC can continue to attract and retain individuals who will contribute to the mission of the University and its ongoing success.

We appreciate your attention to these concerns and look forward to discussing the implementation of these changes.
