STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR
APPLICTION OF LONG BEACH WAYFARER LLC
TO NASSAU COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
(TH E “LONG BEACH SUPERBLOCK PROJECT”)

We are signing this statement to confirm our support for the application of Long Beach Wayfarer LLC to the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency for financial assistance. We feel compelled to give this support because:
1.The project will improve the good fortune and standard of living of Nassau County in a material way and prevent unemployment and economic deterioration.
2.The project will provide Nassau County with an influx of new residents, while not materially impacting the capabilities of the Long Beach school district, police and fire departments and other services
3.The project will provide the workforce and transit-oriented housing that the Nassau County planning community agrees is essential to the county remaining a vibrant suburban region
4.The project will provide an increase of over $88,000 in payments to Nassau County and Long Beach taxing jurisdictions over the next 30 years
5.The project will quickly provide approximately $8,600,000 in extra fees, payments and infrastructure improvements to Long Beach, and ease the city’s financial burdens
6.The project will increase the annual household income in Long Beach by approximately $75,000
7.The project will pay Long Island union members $110,000 in salaries and benefits over the term of construction, which those in workers will reinvest in the county for years to come

Nassau County and Long Beach need the economic shot in the arm the superblock will provide! We believe that this project meets all of the criteria for the IDA to approve this application, and we cannot emphasize enough how important it is for the superblock development to succeed. Please add this statement to the IDA’s public record.
