Love Community Colleges - Elevate MassEducate!

Governor Healey & The Massachusetts Legislature

The MassEducate initiative is expanding access and creating new opportunities for Massachusetts students by allowing them to enroll in community college at no cost.

The Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) is deeply concerned about our system’s ability to meet the demands of a growing student population. Our Colleges are under-resourced, understaffed, and struggle to recruit and retain talented faculty and professional staff.

A Wage Equity Study from the Massachusetts Teachers Association reveals the average salary for Massachusetts community college faculty is about $40,000 less than faculty in peer states when adjusted for cost-of-living. Massachusetts has the highest cost-of-living of any state in the continental United States. Yet, on average, our salaries lag 70% behind California – the next closest comparison.

We call upon our fellow educators, students, administrators, legislators, and the public to join us in fulfilling the promise of MassEducate and the Massachusetts Community College system.

Let’s elevate the investment of MassEducate!
