Make BU a sanctuary campus!!
BU Admin
As the Trump administration has implemented its mass deportation of undocumented immigrants it has also begun to target people who are legally inside the United States. ICE has already detained several people with legal visas as well as some with green cards. Right now, there is nothing stopping BUPD from cooperating with ICE as Boston's sanctuary city law does not apply to our campus police. We want that to change! We cannot wait around for ICE to show up, we demand that BU become a sanctuary for the immigrants that are a part of the university's community. It essential that the immigrant community of BU feel safe and welcome.

Share any student/detainee information with DHS/ICE/CBP, including both personal information (ex. student address, involvement in campus activism, disciplinary history) and criminal history information, in the absence of a lawfully-issued subpoena signed by a judge.
Additionally, Boston University must mandate training for all staff and employees, including security personnel, to ensure they understand the difference between an administrative and judicial warrant. Federal immigration authorities must be barred from entering private buildings absent a judicial warrant.
