Texas is considering a radical gerrymander that will eliminate 5 Democrats from Congress through sheer political power. Texan politicians are deciding their voters instead of the other way around. This sickening process must be stopped, but not on our own: I am writing to you today to support Governors like Gavin Newsom who are standing up and saying they will make this gerrymandering backfire by redistricting. Until there is a progressive majority that will pass nationwide redistricting reform, our democracy is too important to defend with one arm behind our back.
