Stop the Execution of Marcus Reed in Louisiana

Governor Jeff Landry

Marcus Reed was convicted in Louisiana for the 2010 murders of Jarquis Adams, Jeremiah Adams and Gene Adams. His June 2025 execution date has been stayed for now, but please continue to take action on his behalf

The State of Louisiana recently began a resumption of executions after not having had one in 15 years. By scheduling an execution at this time, the state is now an outlier in its use of the death penalty while the majority of other states are on a downward trend away from executions.

Please sign the petition asking Governor Jeff Landry to do everything within his power to stop this execution, including issuing a stay, and seeking a path to clemency in the case.

Governor Landry,

We are writing to ask you to stop the execution of Marcus Reed for the 2010 murders of Jarquis Adams, Jeremiah Adams and Gene Adams.

The State of Louisiana recently began a resumption of executions after not having had one in 15 years. By scheduling an execution at this time, the state is now an outlier in its use of the death penalty while the majority of other states are on a downward trend away from executions.

You claim to want to keep the promises Louisiana made to the victims of ‘these horrific crimes’. Governor Landry, the fundamental nature of a violent act does not change simply because it is sanctioned by law.

We, the undersigned, ask that you do everything within your power to stop this execution, including issuing a stay, and seeking a path to clemency in the case.

Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent and serious matter.
