MELISSA McCARTHY, DEE REES, AND NANCY MYERS STAND WITH WOMEN AND DENOUNCE WALMART

#MeToo and #TimesUp are about more than just celebrities and politicians, they’re about women in all walks of life being treated respectfully and given the same support in the workplace as their male colleagues.

But when it comes to Walmart, we see countless women, including pregnant women, mothers, members of the LGBTQ community, and even some women of color shoppers, treated unfairly and unjustly by Walmart's business practices.

That’s why we’re so disappointed that Melissa McCarthy, Dee Rees, and Nancy Myers have all decided to promote Walmart at this year’s Oscars ceremony and produce Walmart's television ads for the Oscars.

Walmart has an abyssal track record of:

  • Exploiting Female Overseas Supply Chain Workers
  • Gaps in enforcing non-discrimination as to gender identity
  • Opposing Proposals Requiring Equal Pay Transparency
  • Family-Unfriendly Scheduling and Sick Day Policies
  • Locking up African-American hair care products in some stores
  • Refusing to provide Maternity Leave and Health Care to Hundreds of Thousands of Workers
  • Routinely disciplining pregnant women and others who take time off to care for themselves or sick family
  • High Female Turnover
  • Supporting President Trump
