Members of Congress shouldn’t be able to trade stock while in office.
U.S. Congress
It’s normal for Members of Congress to receive information not available to the public in their roles. But what shouldn’t be normal is for those members to leverage their insider knowledge to make a profit by buying and selling stocks while in office.
Doing so reeks of corruption and Americans across the political spectrum agree.
At a time when public trust in Congress is extremely low, Congress should be trying to ensure their constituents have faith in them — not make them question where their elected leaders’ allegiance lies.
Add your name to tell Congress that it’s time to put a stop to congressional stock trading.

As part of their roles, members of Congress receive non-public information all the time. But those members shouldn’t be allowed to turn around and use that knowledge to make a profit by buying and selling stocks.
The appearance of corruption that this presents is reason enough for this to stop. I urge Congress to ban members of Congress from being able to buy and sell stock while in office.
