NC-CD10 Demands Affordable Quality Healthcare!

In North Carolina’s District 10, too many working families are being priced out of healthcare while struggling to afford basic needs like food and housing. No one should be forced to choose between getting the care they need and keeping food on the table or a roof overhead. Affordable healthcare is essential to the economic security of our families and the well-being of our communities.

We call on our Representative to put people over profit-driven corporations and take bold action to make healthcare affordable by supporting transformational reforms that guarantee quality, affordable healthcare for all.

We are writing to urge you to put patients before profits by committing to a Healthcare Integrity Pledge that prioritizes the needs of your constituents over the influence of corporate healthcare interests.

Across our communities, families are struggling with rising healthcare costs, medical debt, and barriers to accessing care. Many voters are deeply concerned that large healthcare corporations — including private insurance companies, pharmaceutical corporations, and for-profit hospital systems — exert outsized influence on public policy through campaign contributions. To build public trust and demonstrate accountability to the people you seek to represent, we ask that you commit to the following:

Healthcare Integrity Pledge

You will not accept campaign contributions exceeding $200 from executives, lobbyists, or political action committees (PACs) affiliated with corporate healthcare interests that seek to influence healthcare policy.

In addition, if elected to Congress, we petition that you will commit to co-sponsoring the Medicare for All Act (H.R. 3069), the only comprehensive healthcare reform bill currently before the House designed to guarantee affordable, high-quality healthcare for all.

Taking this pledge would demonstrate your commitment to representing patients, families, and communities first, and to advancing meaningful solutions that make healthcare more affordable and accessible.
