No Eminent Domain for Private Gain. No Keystone XL Pipeline.
Nebraska Public Service Commissioners

A foreign corporation, TransCanada, is attempting to use the power of eminent domain to take land from Nebraska farmers and ranchers for its proposed Keystone XL export pipeline.
The Nebraskans living in the path who do not want to sell their land for Keystone XL — but are facing eminent domain seizure of their property — have grave concerns about a tarsands and benzene spill threatening the Ogallala aquifer, and the fragile sandy soils and pristine farmland in this state whose economy is driven by agriculture, not oil.
A foreign company shouldn't have the right to take Nebraska landowners' property against our wishes, and risk our livelihoods and generations of stewardship over this land, just so that it can transport its dirty tarsands oil to export markets overseas.
The Nebraska Public Service Commissioners have the authority to reject this risky proposed pipeline, and abuse of eminent domain — which is supposed to only be used for the "public good" of Nebraskans, not to line the pockets of any foreign oil company's investors.

I oppose the abuse of eminent domain for private gain, and stand with Nebraska farmers and ranchers who are opposed to the Keystone XL tarsands export pipeline.
