No Fascists on Campus

UIC Administration

The Students of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and community members are against the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event on March 9th at 7 p.m. at the UIC Dorin Forum. This event will feature Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens - two far-right media figures- both of whom are known for their instigating hate speech against LGBTQ+ community, people of color, immigrants, women, disabled people, etc.

UIC prides itself on being an accepting and progressive campus and was recently named one of the best campuses for LGBTQ+ students. However, when figures such as Kirk and Owens are being hosted right on campus, the administration is demonstrating that they care more about the profit they’ll make from such an event rather than their students.

We want the administration to refuse to host an event that will bring dangerous rhetoric onto campus - the place where students are supposed to feel safe.
