NO NEW TAX CUTS FOR CORPORATIONS
Republican Lawmakers
In the face of a looming recession and more layoffs across Iowa, the Governor & GOP lawmakers want to give a new $1 BILLION tax cut to corporations that lay off Iowa workers.
After cutting unemployment benefits to laid off workers just a few years ago, Republicans have their priorities BACKWARDS. Iowa should be supporting Iowans who get laid off through no fault of their own and ensure they receive the benefits they rightfully earned, not give another tax break to corporations.
HF 980 would slash unemployment insurance taxes for corporations, giving them a $1 billion tax cut in just 5 years with absolutely NO increase in benefits to employees. Republican leaders are planning to debate and pass this bill before we adjourn for the year.
Sign this petition and tell Republican lawmakers to support Iowa workers over corporations and restore unemployment benefits to Iowans.

In the face of a looming recession and more layoffs across Iowa, I am asking you to support Iowans who get laid off through no fault of their own and ensure they receive the benefits they have rightfully earned.
Please vote NO on HF 980 because corporations who lay off workers do NOT need a new $1 billion tax cut.
