Urge PM Trudeau to protect 100 women at a hotel he controls!
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, MP Alice Wong, MP Kenny Chiu, MP Randeep Sarai, MP Sukh Dhaliwal, MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay
Pacific Gateway Hotel, which was taken over by the federal government last year, has fired over 140 workers – including 82 of them on May 1. Women, many from South Asian and Chinese communities, are bearing the brunt and treated like they're disposable.
What is happening at Pacific Gateway is a disgrace. And the Trudeau government is looking the other way.
Tell Prime Minister Trudeau to support women at Pacific Gateway by making sure they are reinstated or move the government's business somewhere else. The government should not spend millions of dollars on a hotel that treats women like they’re disposable and destroys living wage jobs.

Dear PM Trudeau, MP Alice Wong, MP Kenny Chiu, MP Randeep Sarai, MP Sukh Dhaliwal, MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay:
I urge you to move the federal government’s business at Pacific Gateway to another hotel in BC. The government should not spend millions of dollars on a hotel that treats women like they’re disposable and destroys living wage jobs.
Workers are on strike to protest the mass firings and the hotel’s attempt to rollback years of hard-earned economic gains. Pacific Gateway workers urged hotel management to allow them to return to their jobs after the COVID-19 crisis is over and when work becomes available again. They refused. As Prime Minister of Canada, I urge you to take responsibility and commit to a feminist recovery by protecting workers' jobs at Pacific Gateway — because no one should lose their job because of a pandemic.
Please keep me updated on this issue.
Sincerely,
