Tell the U.S. Forest Service: Protect our oldest trees

U.S. Forest Service

Our country used to be covered in lush green forests from coast to coast. But today, the vast majority of old-growth forests have already been logged. We have precious few groves of old-growth trees left standing. We need to protect them before logging kills our oldest trees. Tell the Biden administration: Protect old-growth forests now!

As you consider new policies to protect forests, they must protect our oldest trees from logging.

Old-growth trees are the backbone of the ecosystem. They help filter the water in the creeks and streambeds. They absorb pollution from the air. They create shelter for wildlife. And they provide shade and a beautiful sight for us. No old-growth trees should be sent to timber mills.

Please enact durable protections for mature trees and forests as well as for old-growth. We have very little old-growth left and the only chance we have to restore what was lost is to protect our mature forests so that they can grow.
