ONLINE ID CHECKS CENSOR ABORTION INFO
Across the internet, platforms are requiring people submit to age checks to access their content. States like Louisiana, Indiana, and Virginia have passed laws that require people to provide government ID to access certain apps and websites, but some platforms are "pre-complying" by implementing these checks for everyone, even if it's not legally required. This is what Reddit is doing, and it's threatening people who use r/Abortion and other subreddits to get information about how to get an abortion. Restricting information about abortion and reproductive health doesn't make anyone safer, and having your Reddit searches connected to your government ID will only scare people away from finding information they need.
Tell Reddit to resist walling off abortion information and to stop online ID checks now!

Requiring Reddit users to submit to IDs make the internet less safe. This practice infringes on my right to freely access information and connect with people online. Using a 3rd party to collect this data puts my personal information at risk. And connecting my Reddit searches and posts with my government ID is dangerous surveillance. Requiring all users to submit to ID checks makes it harder to access important information on subreddits like r/Abortion. Please resist implementing widespread age and ID verification policies and pre-complying with these censorship and surveillance laws.
