Open The Debates.

New Jersey General Assembly, New Jersey State Senate, Governor Chris Christie

Let's show the media and public that all the candidates on the ballot in November should be included in the debates. We need to fight the system that created a 'pay to play' policy under which gubernatorial candidates have come up with over $430,000 in campaign contributions just to have a chance to speak. NJ's over 2.6 million unaffiliated voters deserve a chance to be educated about all the candidates before they make their decision. Sign this petition to send a message that we want to hear from candidates other than the corporate sponsored ones.

The current 'pay to play' policy, under which gubernatorial candidates have to come up with over $430,000 in campaign contributions to have a chance to speak in sanctioned debates, is against everything our political system should stand for. We need you help to fight this unjust and immoral system. NJ's over 2.6 million unaffiliated voters deserve a chance to be educated about all the candidates before they make their decision. Join me in calling for a debate system that respects the voters of New Jersey, not political donors.

I am calling on you as my elected representative to propose legislation that would amend NJ Title 19 Election Statute so that it requires these debates to include all candidates on the ballot.
