Prince George Locals Deserve More from a $40 billion LNG project!

Dexterra

We are Parsnip Lodge camp workers. We work for Dexterra (formerly Horizon North). We work on the $40 billion LNG project at Parsnip Lodge near Prince George and need a living wage.

LNG promised us good jobs.

But Parsnip camp, which is near Prince George, has less than 10% of its workforce from Prince George!

Many Indigenous people live in Prince George and in surrounding reserves, yet only a fraction are working at Parsnip. Unemployment in Prince George rose from 2019 to 2020, yet contractors continue to hire out-of-province workers instead of investing in local labour.

Why is Dexterra treating Prince George locals and Parsnip workers with no respect?

We are standing up together. Join us in calling on Dexterra to take action immediately by:

  • Providing Parsnip workers a living wage;
  • Providing good health and retirement benefits;
  • Prioritizing the employment of more Prince George locals, especially Indigenous workers, at Parsnip Lodge.
