We are front-line health care workers, patients, and community members united for safe patient care at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
We call on OSU executives to negotiate in good faith with recently unionized Patient Care Associates (PCAs) and Psychiatric Care Technicians (PCTs) to address chronic understaffing, improve recruitment and retention, and uphold professional standards of care. A fair and equitable agreement for workers and our community should include the following:
- Improved PCA and PCT staffing levels to ensure every patient receives the safe care they need and deserve.
- Measures to recruit and retain highly qualified staff, including competitive compensation and professional development opportunities.
- A worker-led Professional Practice Committee with authority to address staffing, training, and standards of care.
