Petition: Save the Phoenix Centre in Crystal Palace

The Mayor of Croydon

The Phoenix Centre is at the heart of our community. Now, its future is at risk.

Conservative Mayor Jason Perry has listed the centre for sale.

Why does this matter?

  • The Phoenix Centre is more than just a building. It's where families celebrate weddings, children blow out birthday candles and older residents catch up over a coffee.
  • It's where local groups bring people together, friendships are made and neighbours support one another.
  • These are the places that make our community feel like home.
  • Our council should be protecting them, not putting them at risk.
  • And given the Labour Government has increased Croydon's funding by 28%, there's no excuse for threatening the centre's future.
  • When we lose places like this, we lose more than just a building. We lose the connections that hold our community together.

What can we do to save it?

It's not too late to save the Phoenix Centre.

We're calling on Croydon Council to remove it from the disposal list and protect its future as a community space.

Please sign my petition and share it with your neighbours. Together, we can help save the Phoenix Centre.

Dear Mayor Perry,

We call on Croydon Council to remove the Phoenix Centre in Crystal Palace from its disposal list and protect its future as a community centre.

The Phoenix Centre is more than just a building. It's where families celebrate special occasions, older residents meet and local groups bring people together.

Places like this help make our community feel like home. They build friendships, bring neighbours together and provide support to those who need it.

Our council should be looking after these spaces, not putting them at risk.

Given the Labour Government has increased Croydon's funding by 28%, there's no excuse for threatening the centre's future.

We urge you to listen to residents and work with the community to keep the Phoenix Centre open for years to come.

Yours sincerely,
