Demand CVS Health Chief Pharmacy Officer Lucille Accetta Invest in Safe Pharmacies, Not Union Busting

Lucille Accetta, Chief Pharmacy Officer, CVS Health

As pharmacy professionals at CVS Health, we provide expert care that millions of patients in thousands of communities across the country depend on. Thanks to our advanced clinical knowledge and skilled labor, CVS brought in $372.8 billion in revenue in 2024. All the while, we are stretched thin and pressured to do more with less. We have called on CVS Executives to make the necessary investments in safe staffing levels, as well as measures to recruit and retain highly skilled staff.

Unfortunately, CVS Executives have responded with a series of illegal actions to punish us for advocating for our patients and our profession. These include cutting staff, withholding merit raises, and refusing to bargain in good faith with The Pharmacy Guild/IAM (our professional association and trade union). But we won't be intimidated and we won't be silenced. As licensed pharmacists and technicians, we have ethical and legal obligations to advocate for our patients. Please join us and sign this petition calling on CVS Executives to do the right thing.

We are skilled pharmacy professionals, patients, and community members united for safe patient care and professional respect at CVS.

We call on you and other CVS Executives to immediately end your illegal union-busting tactics, which have included retaliatory layoffs, withholding annual raises, understaffing pharmacies, and refusing to bargain in good faith. Such tactics are clearly intended to prevent CVS pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other pharmacy professionals from collectively advocating for safe patient care, the right to exercise professional judgement, safe workplaces, and other necessary changes at CVS.

We are appealing to you because you are a licensed pharmacist with both a legal and professional duty of care. We demand the following:

1. Act to ensure safe staffing and consistent service to vulnerable nursing home and hospital patients by rescinding the pending layoffs at CVS Omnicare in Las Vegas, NV.

2. Avoid possible disruptions to patient care at CVS sites across the country by meeting to negotiate frequently and adhering to the agreed-upon dates and times.

3. Invest in recruitment and retention of world-class pharmacy professionals by providing the annual merit raises that CVS Executives have illegally withheld.
