We, the undersigned residents of the city of New Orleans, are deeply concerned about the increasing issue of blight in our neighborhoods. Abandoned properties, overgrown lots, and deteriorating buildings are not only unsightly but pose significant risks to public health, safety, and the economic vitality of our community.

Blight diminishes property values, fosters crime, and creates unsafe environments for residents, especially our children. It is essential that we take immediate action to combat this issue and restore pride in our community.

We believe that a dedicated organization, focused on fighting blight through community engagement, property rehabilitation, and collaboration with local government and private stakeholders, is critical to the future prosperity and safety of New Orleans.

We request the following:
-Creation of an Anti-Blight Task Force: Establish a formal oversight task force dedicated to equitable and effective addressing and eradicating blight in New Orleans.
-Funding and Support: Secure funding and resources from local government, private sector partners, and community organizations to ensure the sustainability and success of this initiative.
-Community Involvement: Ensure that residents are actively involved in the planning and execution of anti-blight efforts, including community clean-ups, property rehabilitation, and advocacy.
-Long-Term Strategy: Develop a comprehensive, long-term plan that not only addresses current blight but also prevents future occurrences by focusing on economic development, affordable housing, and community beautification efforts.

We, the undersigned, are committed to working together to make New Orleans a safer, cleaner, and more vibrant place to live. We urge local leaders and stakeholders to take immediate action to support the equitable addressing of this critical issue.
