We, the undersigned, are calling on General Motors to immediately end its use of nonunion carhaulers and restore this work to Teamsters drivers who are paid the area standard and protected by a strong union contract.
Historically, this work has been performed by Teamsters carhaulers — skilled, experienced union members who ensure vehicles are transported safely and reliably. By replacing them with nonunion drivers, GM is directly undercutting the wages, benefits, and job standards that hardworking union families depend on.
This is a threat not only to Teamsters but to all union members in our industry, including UAW members. Solidarity is what strengthens working people. When UAW members struck last year, Teamsters honored your picket lines and were proud to back you in your fight. Now, it’s time to back us and stop GM from outsourcing good union jobs with nonunion labor.
We will not stand by while GM undermines decades of union progress. We demand that GM:
• Stop using nonunion carhaulers
• Return this work to Teamsters drivers
• Honor the area standards for wages and working conditions
We are proud union members. We will defend union jobs, union standards, and union solidarity — and we expect GM to do the same.
