Pomona Alumni Donation Withholding Pledge

Since October 7, israel has been indiscriminately attacking hospitals, schools, and homes, displacing almost 2 million and massacring over 29,000 Palestinians (as of Feb. 16th). This loss of life surpasses the toll of the Nakba of 1948. The ethnic cleansing and dispossession of Palestinians did not start this year.

For over 75 years, israel’s settler colonialism has destroyed Palestinian lives and land. Since 2005, israel has collectively punished Gazans through a complete blockade, restricting their access to food, water, and electricity. Palestinians in the West Bank, too, live under a violent, internationally recognized apartheid regime. Occupation forces and settlers have murdered hundreds, and thousands more are currently detained in blatant violation of international humanitarian law. This violent occupation is funded by the United States — and investments by institutions including Pomona College.

The global anti-Zionist movement is growing, and its leaders are calling for all hands on deck.
120 nations have called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Millions upon millions are taking to the streets in response to calls from Palestinians on the ground. We must continue shutting it down today, tomorrow, and until liberation.

WE DEMAND THAT POMONA COLLEGE IMMEDIATELY

  1. DIVEST COMPLETELY from all weapons manufacturers and all institutions that aid the ongoing occupation of Palestine.
  2. ADHERE TO the USACBI academic boycott.
  3. PUBLICLY CALL for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
  4. PUBLICLY CONDEMN israel’s apartheid, occupation, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and dehumanization of Palestinians.
  5. INSTITUTE anti-discrimination policies explicitly for Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, SWANA, Black, Brown, and Indigenous students.

Since October 7, israel has been indiscriminately attacking hospitals, schools, and homes, displacing almost 2 million and massacring over 29,000 Palestinians (as of Feb. 16th). It is entirely unacceptable that Pomona College continues to be willingly complicit in the displacement, ethnic cleansing, and genocide of Palestinians.

In solidarity with the international movement for Boycotts, Divestment, and Sanction (BDS), I will be withholding ALL donations to Pomona College until the college meets the demands presented by Pomona Divest from Apartheid.

I demand that Pomona College immediately:
1. DIVEST COMPLETELY from all weapons manufacturers and all institutions that aid the ongoing occupation of Palestine.​
