Protect KGW & Local Journalism Jobs
The CEO and Board of Tegna Broadcast Media
IATSE Local 600 represents KGW-TV's award-winning photojournalists & editors. We are asking for a fair contract with fair wages. KGW's parent corporation, Tegna, wants to remove protections on maintaining staff positions and won't agree to fair wage increases or adding new protected classes in the contract in the non-discrimination section.

The Portland public deserves skilled and experienced journalists to deliver the news to the community. Since their last contract was signed, there have been many challenges to Portland, and they have happily answered the call. They have put a lot on the line for the television station and for journalistic integrity. Tegna recently posted a profit of $630 million in 2022 yet offered a meager 1% salary increase in this time of high inflation. As KGW editors and photojournalists they are asking for a fair contract with fair wages. Settle a fair contract with KGW-IATSE Local 600 editors and photojournalists.
