Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on Articles of Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. His actions seeking foreign intervention in elections is a crime against our country. If the Articles of Impeachment are approved by the House, the U.S. Senate will hold a trial. Like you, I am not confident our Senate will hold him accountable. They are likely to keep him in his role, no matter his crimes. This is a tragedy for our country, for our Democracy. We need leadership in true governance, governance where our Democracy, and all people in our country, are treated with dignity.
