Today, abortion is still legal in Iowa. But Governor Reynolds & GOP politicians have been working to take away the reproductive freedom of Iowans for the last decade.

In June, a six-week abortion ban could be the law in Iowa.

The Iowa Supreme Court held arguments on the GOP's six-week ban on April 11 and they are expected to rule between now and late June. If they uphold the law, a six-week ban could take effect right away and leave Iowans without the reproductive freedom they have today.

It’s no secret the special interest groups that want to ban all abortion and take away more reproductive freedom from Iowans are the most powerful at the State Capitol. They will stop at nothing to ban all abortion, including some kinds of birth control and even ending IVF for families trying to start a family.

A strong majority of Iowans support reproductive freedom. They believe everyone deserves the right to make their own health care decisions and politicians have no place interfering in someone else’s decisions about when to start a family.
