Protect the Daly City Partnership Food Distribution Site at 350 90th Street

City of Daly City & The Daly City Coumcil

The REACH Coalition is calling on Daly City leaders to Protect the Daly City Partnership’s Food Distribution Site at 350 90th Street and prevent its relocation to the Top of the Hill. The current site is part of a vital network of wraparound services — located next to San Mateo County Health Center below Youth Point Health Clinic, and steps from County Social Services — making it a trusted, safe, and familiar place for families, including undocumented and asylum‑seeking residents who rely on consistent access to support.

Moving the program to a narrow, congested street across from a fire station would create new safety issues, reduce accessibility, and ultimately shrink the number of families served. As food insecurity rises, Daly City should expand services, not displace them. We urge the City to keep the food distribution site at its current location and work collaboratively to address concerns without disrupting essential community support.

We, the undersigned, urge the City of Daly City to preserve the Daly City Partnership’s food distribution site at its current location: 350 90th Street, Daly City, CA 94015.

The proposed relocation to the Top of the Hill would significantly reduce access for the very residents who rely on this essential service — including undocumented families, asylum seekers, seniors, working‑class households, and community members facing food insecurity.

Why the Current Location Must Be Protected
1. It is part of a critical hub of wraparound services.
The food distribution site is located next door to San Mateo County Health Center, downstairs from Youth Point Health Clinic, and one block from a County Social Services office. Families can access multiple supports in one familiar, trusted place — childcare resources, health care, case management, and food.
This proximity is not accidental; it is part of a coordinated ecosystem that keeps families stable.

2. It is a safe, known, and trusted location for undocumented and asylum‑seeking residents.
Many families currently served are experiencing extreme hardship and fear. Asking them to transition to an unfamiliar site — especially one farther from supportive services — risks losing them entirely.
When people are already navigating trauma, displacement, and uncertainty, continuity matters. Trust matters. Location matters.

3. The proposed site at Top of the Hill is less safe and less accessible.
The alternative location is on a narrow street, directly across from a fire station, and already experiences congestion.
If traffic and parking are concerns at 90th Street, they will be significantly worse at the proposed site — creating new safety issues for families, volunteers, and emergency responders.

4. Moving the site would shrink access, not expand it.
At a time when Daly City should be proactively expanding services, this relocation would reduce the number of families the Partnership can reach.
Food distribution is not optional — it is a lifeline. Daly City must prioritize feeding hungry community members, not create barriers.

Our Request
We respectfully ask the City of Daly City to:

Allow the Daly City Partnership to continue operating its food distribution program at 350 90th Street, and

Collaborate with community partners to address traffic and parking concerns without displacing essential services.

Our Community Values
Daly City has a long history of supporting immigrant families, working‑class communities, and those most impacted by inequity. Protecting this site honors that legacy.
We believe in a Daly City where no one goes hungry, where families can access services without fear, and where decisions are made with compassion, data, and community input.

We urge the City to keep the food distribution site at its current location.
Our families, neighbors, and community deserve stability — not disruption.
