Reinstate Andrew Warren
Governor Ron DeSantis
Most of us, no matter what we look like or where we come from, want to live in a democracy led by officials we elect. Recently, Governor DeSantis has begun illegally removing duly-elected officials from office because they don't share his extreme, anti-democratic ideology. By coming together across our communities, we can let the Governor know that we will not stand for this behavior and we will fight back. Please sign this petition if you believe ours is a government for the people, not Governor DeSantis's plaything.

To the Hon. Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida:
As citizens and residents of Hillsborough County, we expect our Governor to faithfully uphold the laws of our state. Therefore, we demand that you immediately reinstate our duly-elected State Attorney, Andrew H. Warren.
A full and fair trial adjudicated by the United States District Court emphatically stated on January 20th that:
1. State Attorney Warren had executed his duties lawfully and without misconduct; and
2. Your suspension of his position on August 4, 2022 violated both the Florida and United States constitutions.
The Court declared that "Mr. Warren's well-established policy, followed in every case by every prosecutor in the office, was to exercise prosecutorial discretion at every stage of every case. Any reasonable investigation would have confirmed this...(your office) has been unable to identify even a single case in which discretion was not executed."
The Court further made clear that there was no misconduct on State Attorney Warren's part.
The voters of Hillsborough County are entitled to the same rights as other Floridians to elect the representation of their choice, whether or not their elected official shares your party or your ideology. The United States District Court has found that there was no cause to remove State Attorney Warren and that the Florida constitution does NOT empower the Governor's office with the right to remove legally elected state officials at whim.
In your oath as Governor, you swore to respect the courts and the constitution of our state. We now request you to fully honor that oath and immediately reinstate State Attorney Warren to a position that he has been elected to twice.
Respectfully,
The undersigned...
