Release our parents! Liberen a Constantina Ramirez y Moises Enciso!

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

On September 14, 2025, Constantina Ramirez and Moises Enciso were detained by ICE during a traffic stop on Cicero Avenue and Pershing. Join us in demanding that ICE release them so that they can return to be with their four kids and family.

This is a message from their oldest son:

“Both of my parents were taken by ICE officials on Sunday morning. My mom and dad were detained on my brother's 10th birthday. My little brother and little sister have not been the same since that morning.

I just want my parents to come back home. I want to go back to the routine of our daily lives. Getting the sign of the cross from my mom, my dad telling us about his day and showing us his work. I don’t want us to be in this state of uncertainty.

My mom has a big collection of plants, every morning she opens the window for them and takes care of them. She’s really into exercising at home and listening to music. She started during COVID just trying to be more active and get us kids to eat more healthy. She loves to cook with her sister and I like her flautas that she makes. My mom is very into her faith. She sends our siblings prayers on Whatsapp every morning telling us to have a nice day. She lights her candles for the Virgencita’s altar and goes to church all the time.

My dad works in construction. He wakes up around 4 a.m. every morning to go buy whatever material he needs for the day. My dad is very proud of the work he does. He likes to take pictures and videos of the jobs he completes and likes to show them off on Facebook. He’s always asking me to proofread his posts to make sure things are spelled right. Whenever he isn’t working he tends to his garden in our backyard. This year he planted peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and tried his best to grow corn. He cuts up the pepinos he plants and prepares them for us. He also planted marigolds for us to use in a shrine for his dad who passed away.

Both my parents go above and beyond for others. They are always willing to help out our neighbors and my dad is a social butterfly and loves to talk to everybody, while my mom would always ask us about her new outfits every time we would go out.

We would always have dinner together as a family around 7 or 8 pm since we have busy schedules. We have our unofficial seats and everybody respects each other’s place where we sit. Their seats are empty now.

It feels like a bad dream to not have them around, it just doesn’t feel right, the house feels very dark. It feels like there is a hole that the family is falling into.

I want people to be aware that this can happen to them. Be safe and have back up plans. Memorize your phone numbers, have a lawyer and prepare for the worst because it is not an easy thing to go through. There is so much chaos that falls on you and it feels like your world is falling apart so the more you can prepare the better.”
