REOPEN CARNEY HOSPITAL, NASHOBA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER, AND NORWOOD HOSPITAL
Maura Healey, Governor of Massachusetts
REOPEN CARNEY HOSPITAL, NASHOBA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER, AND NORWOOD HOSPITAL
Carney Hospital (serving Dorchester, Mattapan, Milton, Quincy, Weymouth), Nashoba Valley Medical Center (serving Ayer, Shirley, Devens, Harvard, Groton, Westford, Littleton, Pepperell, Townsend, Lunenburg, Leominster, Ashby, Dunstable, Bolton, Fitchburg, Lancaster), and Norwood Hospital (Norwood, Westwood, Canton, Sharon, Walpole, Wrentham, Foxboro, Dedham, Medfield) are vital to the well-being and health of the communities which they serve.
Their closure has generated a health care and public health crisis for many and will have devastating impacts on those communities.
The Commonwealth has the resources and ability to reverse their closure.
We, the undersigned, call on Governor Maura Healey and the Massachusetts legislature to enact whatever measures are necessary, including the use of eminent domain, to secure and ensure the continued hospital operations of Carney Hospital, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, and Norwood Hospital, including making them part of the public hospital system.
