Representative Coffman: We're counting on you to overturn the FCC's net neutrality repeal

House Representative Mike Coffman (C0-6)

The FCC just voted to gut net neutrality, but Congress will soon decide whether to overturn the vote using their Congressional Review Act (CRA) powers.[1] To win, we only need a simple majority in the Senate and House.

Colorado Representative Mike Coffman’s support is key. Just before the FCC’s vote, a handful of GOP lawmakers sided with the majority of Republican voters and criticized the agency’s repeal.[2] Coffman was one of them and even sent a public letter asking Chairman Pai to stop.[3] Instead the FCC ignored Coffman and millions of Americans. Now he’s is asking what he should do next.[4]

We only need about 20 Republicans to listen to their constituents and vote for the CRA to win, and convincing Coffman to join sends a strong signal. More than 75% of Republican voters already support net neutrality, so this is definitely doable.

Sign this petition to tell Coffman: “Thank you for opposing Chairman Pai’s plan. We hope you will continue to defend your constituents by supporting the CRA to restore net neutrality and the other consumer protections that were just repealed. Users and businesses need certainty that they will not be blocked, throttled or charged extra fees. As your letter to Chairman Pai recognized, we cannot afford to be left unprotected while Congress deliberates. We will accept nothing less than the protections embodied in the FCC’s 2015 order. Please ensure the FCC keeps its tools to protect consumers and increase competition amongst Internet service providers.”
