Since December of 2025, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been quietly discriminating against its transgender patients by continuing to comply with illegitimate orders. They claim to be doing so out of fear that they may face potential legal or financial ramifications, despite the fact that a federal judge blocked the order, and additionally, Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul has secured a federal court order blocking the order from affecting hospitals in our state.

This ruling marked a significant legal victory for transgender patients and their healthcare providers across the state, and yet, months later, with no federal or state level restrictions in place, Children's Wisconsin continues to withhold GAC from patients under 19 years of age.

Community members and advocates are alarmed and outraged that GAC, which is considered the only evidence-based care for patients experiencing gender dysphoria, and is endorsed by every major medical association in the country, is continuing to be withheld by Children's Wisconsin. Research has consistently shown that GAC improves mental health outcomes for trans people of all ages.

This petition demands that Children’s Hospital leadership urgently take action to restore gender-affirming care for all patients.
