Rossendale and Darwen Tell Jake Berry MP: “No Ceasefire, No Vote!”

Jake Berry MP

For over 100 days the people of Gaza have had their access to water, electricity, food and healthcare cut off. They have been bombed relentlessly by the Israeli armed forces 24 hours a day. There are no safe spaces in Gaza. Over 24,000 Palestinians have now been killed in Gaza, 70% are children and women, and every hour the death toll rises. If this wasn't bad enough, the spectre of starvation and disease hangs over the people of Gaza. This is not a war, it is genocide.

We, the undersigned, call on our MP Jake Berry to change your position; we call on you to back a ceasefire and to condemn the actions of the Israeli state both in Gaza and the West Bank.

Dear Jake Berry MP,

For over 100 days the people of Gaza have had their access to water, electricity, food and healthcare cut off. They have been bombed relentlessly by the Israeli armed forces 24 hours a day. There are no safe spaces in Gaza. Over 24,000 Palestinians have now been killed in Gaza, 70% are children and women, and every hour the death toll rises. If this wasn't bad enough, the spectre of starvation and disease hangs over the people of Gaza. This is not a war, it is genocide.

Over 70% of the British public supports the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, as do the majority of countries across the world.

However, you have refused to back calls for an immediate ceasefire.

We believe the British public will not tolerate politicians who back the continued massacre in Gaza, and that this will be reflected in the general election which will happen this year.

We, the undersigned, call on you to change your position; we call on you to back a ceasefire and to condemn the actions of the Israeli state both in Gaza and the West Bank.

Yours,
