Safeguard Our Schools - Protect Federal Funding for our Schools
Ohio Congressional Delegation
On April 3rd, President Trump released his next budget and Ohio's Congressional Delegation needs to hear from you.
Federal funding helps Ohio schools provide services that many districts simply could not afford on their own. These funds support special education services, tutoring for struggling students, career training programs, and resources for schools serving high-poverty communities. Trump's budget proposal calls for cutting public schools by $7.3 billion, including $219 million from Ohio.

If federal funding is reduced, schools may face difficult decisions. Such as cutting staff, reducing programs, or shifting costs onto local taxpayers.
By signing this petition, you are sending a clear message to Ohio’s congressional delegation: protect federal funding for public education and invest in the success of Ohio’s students.
Every signature helps show that Ohio communities value strong public schools and expect our leaders in Washington to defend them.

We, the undersigned, call on Ohio’s Congressional Delegation to oppose any federal budget proposals that would reduce funding for public education for Ohio kids. Trump's federal budget proposals cuts over $7.3 billion in public education funding, including $219 millions in Ohio.
Public schools educate more than 80% of Ohio’s children and 95% of students with disabilities. Federal education funding plays a critical role in ensuring these students receive the support they need to succeed.
Programs funded through federal investments including Title I for low-income students, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), career and technical education programs, and support for English learners provide essential services in schools across Ohio.
Cuts to federal education funding would mean fewer resources for classrooms, reduced support for vulnerable students, and increased financial pressure on local communities that already rely heavily on property taxes to fund schools.
At a time when many school districts are already facing budget uncertainty, federal funding must be protected. Our students need more opportunities, more resources, and greater protections, not less.
We urge Ohio’s Senators and Members of Congress to:
- Oppose any cuts to federal education funding.
- Protect programs that support students with disabilities, low-income students, and English learners.
- Ensure stable and adequate federal investment in public education.
Ohio’s students, families, and communities depend on strong public schools. Congress must act to protect the resources our schools rely on.
