Demand that ASU Become a Sanctuary Campus for All!

We, the Young Democratic Socialists of America at ASU, and our allies demand that ASU take a stand in support of its students and reject fascist directives from the top! We are fighting for guarantees that ASU won't let ICE on campus, for better resources for marginalized students, and more! A more detailed list of demands can be seen below:
- Sanctuary Campus for International, Undocumented, and Migrant Students
- We demand that ASU guarantee that ICE will not be allowed on campus, and that students will be protected from harassment, intimidation, arrest, and deportation by federal agents
- We demand that ASU guarantee that they will not share the immigration status of ANY STUDENT for ANY REASON to ANY PERSON.
- We demand better and more numerous resources for international, undocumented, and migrant students
- Sanctuary Campus for LGBTQ+ Students
- We continue to demand that ASU establish an LGBTQ+ Resource Center on campus
- We demand that ASU protect and improve access to gender affirming care, and emergency and prophylactic contraceptives on campus
- We demand that ASU protect and improve access to gender neutral bathrooms, accessible bathrooms, and gender inclusive and accessible housing on campus
- Sanctuary Campus for Education and Learning
- We demand that ASU guarantee and protect higher education departments from budget cuts
- We demand that ASU fights back against federal attacks on education, educators, and education funding, and does its part to protect its students no matter what it takes
In these times, it is more important than ever that we build community and stick together. If we don't fight back against these attacks against us, our resources, and our community members, we will never be safe. Only WE KEEP US SAFE, which is why we must continue to pressure the university to stand with its students and against fascism.
We call on all ASU faculty, staff, and students to join us in the struggle against fascism and demand more from our university.

Under your rule, Arizona State University has been transformed from an institution of higher learning to a business. You have consistently chosen to stand on the wrong side of history, whether it be ordering 4 different law enforcement agencies to brutalize and arrest students, staff, and community members protesting a genocide that you profit from, or your consistent and public refusal to establish an LGBTQ+ Center on campus, you have made it clear you have no interest in protecting or standing with your students.
Do you want your legacy to be of a spineless coward who bent the knee to a fascist dictator? It wouldn't surprise us if you did.
That will not stop our struggle. We demand that you use your position to protect your students. ASU should be a sanctuary campus for all, including for undocumented and international students, LGBTQ+ students, and all other people pursuing a higher education.
Stand with your students. Stand against fascism.
We will not stop struggling every day until the university meets our demands. Day after day, we will come back and keep fighting for a better world.
