Say No To Metro Service Cuts.
writtentestimony@wmata.com
Metro has proposed cutting late night service, permanently.
Sign the petition and let metro know that we need to fix the system but it should not come to the detriment of D.C. residents.
In one of the richest regions in the United States, we can find creative and effective solutions to fix our transportation system.
Our leaders should develop a “regional agreement” between MD,VA,DC leaders, businesses, and advocates to say no to late night service cuts and yes to pushing for additional funding that does not come off the backs of area residents.

I am fully against late service night-cuts and the closing of any stations during off-peak hours. I am in favor of:
· Keeping Metro OPEN for late night and early morning service on the weekends.
· A proposal that resembles this structure:
Mon-Thu: 5:00 a.m. – midnight
Fri: 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Sat: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Sun: 7:00 a.m. – midnight
· Keeping ALL Metro Stations open during off-peak hours
· Finding creative solutions to ensure that Metro as a permanent dedicated funding source, that does not come from rate increases.
· Developing a regional leadership body that comprises of MD/DC/VA Congressional Politicians, business leaders, labor, and advocates to push and ensure that the Federal Government dedicates the appropriate amount of funds to fund at least 50 percent of Metro’s operating costs.
